KCSM 4760 leads a Military Train at Wadsworth, IL
An important delivery.
After spending some time on the CPKC, I made my way to the Union Pacific's Milwaukee Subdivision to catch a special move. That being a Military Train bound for a base in Wisconsin, given these aren't really all that common, it was pretty cool to see one of these again. Enjoy!

Railfanning Rondout 6/26/24
Переглядів 1269 годин тому
Rondout time once again. Today after running some errands I went to Rondout for a bit after finding out CPKC 249's leader had an "interesting" light set up due to the ditch lights not working so that was pretty neat. After that I went home for a bit and then came back out again to catch CPKC 730 with the Every Child Matters Unit in the lead as well as catching Amtrak's Borealis before making my...
Railfanning Around Chicagoland 6/23/24
Переглядів 1127 годин тому
A pretty okay day. It's the day after an evening storm and we find ourselves trackside once again in the greater Chicagoland area to do some railfanning. This video takes us to places like Franklin Park, Dolton, Chicago Heights, Homewood, and La Grange. Not a ton of interesting stuff showed up but for what did show up, it was pretty nice. Enjoy! Now here are the trains in order. Train 1: WB Mix...
Railfanning Around Chicagoland 6/19/24

A shorter outing, cause of the heat. I had plans to go out earlier in the day for a day of railfanning around the Chicagoland area but woke up a bit late and because of the heat, I didn't want to stay out too long. But when I got ready for the day, I had gotten wind that CPKC 149 had CP's Navy Unit in the lead, so I went to Rondout to snag that before continuing on with my day. I made stops in ...
Two Trains At Rondout 6/17/24

It was nearly 100 degrees. Following the arrival of yesterday's 246 with a KCS MAC leading, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it would be leading today's 247 out of Bensenville, I decided to go out for it on this scorching summer Monday at Rondout. While waiting I did manage to snag Amtrak 336 which still had Amtrak 518 in the lead and not too long after they cleared, 247 made it's pr...
Railfanning Deerfield And Lake Forest 6/16/24

Happy Father's Day. It's a scorching 90 degrees Father's Day and we find ourselves along the C&M Sub once again. I had to attend a family event in Deerfield which was right next to the C&M believe it or not so it wasn't a hassle getting to the C&M Sub after finding out CPKC 246 had gotten rid of it's old leader in favor of a KCS SD70MAC, I just walked across the street to see it and then later ...

Another day on the CPKC. It's a partly cloudy Saturday afternoon in Rondout as we find ourselves trackside along the CPKC's C&M Sub as I heard CPKC 247 had a pretty neat lash so I decided to go for it and hearing that 249 was following close behind, I decided to stick around a bit longer for that as well. Enjoy! Now here are the trains in order. Train 1: NB Mixed Freight Power: CP AC44CWM #8168...
Three Trains On A Sunny Afternoon 6/12/24
Переглядів 14014 днів тому
No quip this time, just wanted to wish my grandma a happy 98th birthday! I didn't really have much planned today given that I had a late shift at my job later in the evening until I found out that a CN OCS was making it's way North with the Wafer Logo Unit and the recently revealed "Retro Logo" unit leading the charge. So I made my way to the CN's Leithton Sub in Indian Creek and managed to sna...

Another neat combo on the Hiawatha. Recently a Dash 8 had replaced the Phase I Heritage Unit on the Hiawatha set with Amtrak 160 and today they were running on the all day Hiawatha set so I decided to go out to see a former Pepsi Can lead with the Pepsi Can Heritage Unit trail behind. Enjoy! Amtrak 338's Power: AMTK B32-8WH #519 AMTK P42DC #160 *Pepsi Can Phase III Heritage Unit* Taken on 6-10-24
Franklin Park Railroad Daze 2024
Переглядів 77114 днів тому
It's here once again. Today marked another year of Franklin Park's annual Railroad Daze event and to say this year's felt unusually smaller, is kind of an understatement given that CP 2816 had visited the previous month. But nonetheless, it was a pretty chill time. Metra, of course, managed to put on a nice display with the 500 and 97, however the freight display was sort of lacking, as it has ...

Real CPKC hours. It's another sunny June afternoon in Chicagoland, with the accompanying cicadas of course, as in this video we see two CPKC Trains make their way towards their destination in Bensenville, Illinois. Said trains are CPKC 246 which was captured in Des Plaines, IL and CPKC 148 which was captured in Deerfield, IL. Enjoy! Now here are the trains in order. Train 1: WB Mixed Freight Po...

A Rainy RPO Days At The IRM 6/1/24
Переглядів 96121 день тому
I was soaked. Despite the fact that it said it was going to rain all day today, I managed to go to the Illinois Railway Museum for their Railway Post Office days which featured BN-1 doing the honors of pulling the demonstration mail train and of course, Frisco 1630 handling the coach train. Despite the rain getting in the way of some shots as you'll see in the video and for the short time I was...
The Last CNW AC44 On The UP Geneva Sub 5/31/24
Переглядів 36221 день тому
A great way to end the month. After getting screwed over five years ago when it lead an intermodal and countless times recently due to work or school related stuff or them running it in the middle of the night, I finally got my redemption with this unit. Yesterday I had found out that UP 6706, the last CNW painted unit on the active Union Pacific roster was leading Train MMTPR towards UP's Prov...
Railfanning Illinois And Indiana 5/29/24
Переглядів 23528 днів тому
A lot of neat things showed up today. Originally I had plans to go railfanning on Tuesday but due to some storms that struck the area, I decided against it, which in turn actually worked out better for today as a lot of neat stuff was running. The day prior I had heard that CSX M367 had CSX 3194 and 1982 in the lead so I made my way out to Willow Creek near Portage, IN to intercept them, but no...

Awesome catch!
I saw the second one and last one meet in Pleasant Prairie on 95th st today around 520
Rip 816
Great video!
Nice catches!
1:19 RIP 215
why did so many trains not use horns. I thought Franklin park was one of the few places on the Metra system that still had horn zones.
Franklin Park is now a quiet zone I believe
I am surprised they didn't have one of the CPKC-painted locomotives on display
Worked for Soo Line / CPKC 29 years glad I’m retired. Rejects from other companies. The Dirty Beaver 🦫
Not gonna lie, if you look under, you can see there's a second train that met up 2002
Nice catches!
METX 99 is 35 y/o
METX 89 age is 25 y/o
METX 73 is 26 y/o
129 was rebuilt and repainted back in 2022, anyways nice video!
Great to see BN-1 operating I wonder why the North Shore electric liner is still not operating I wonder how long it’s gonna take for them to fix the teething troubles it’s been having
That steam loco has 611s whistle
That's not 611's Whistle-
Nice video! I’m planning to go there tomorrow!
Good to see they got those strobes working on the BN-1! That locomotive in the Pentrex “Best of 1990” video was my entire childhood and still to this day remains one of my favorite locomotives of all time.
Didn't know what the foam fest was all about yesterday ( I knew it wasnt for the 104) until I pulled into La Fox and saw that beat up ratty looking thing sitting there. Good lord paint it already.
UP1111 leading, UP1995, UP6706 leading. and a Via rail Canada train set.
I have a feeling someone behind the scenes has a hand in keeping this one going…it seems criminal that one of these has lasted this long on the UP.
Great catches there man!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I want 402 assign to Rock Island for 3mo and Milwaukee Road 3w
Nice shots of shay 5 and 1630 at the start!
Wow twice in a row
Nice Amtrak Train
75's K5LA sounds splendid. The tune of this horn with Phase VII fits the Genesis well.
Nice
Sweet catch
It was good to see the 7009, 411, and 1689 on their Excursion Runs last weekend.
Side Note: You can spot me on the left at 10:15 when the 411 was Reversing onto Track 2.
Great! A sandwich. What cars are they using on the borealis? It looks from the outside like the commuter-cars Metro North runs here in New York. I would not wanna ride 7h in those not so comfy seats like Metro North they has. Are there any photos of how they look inside?
Essentially the same shell as the Metro-North cars you're thinking of, but much different interior. If you look up Horizon fleet interior, you'll see these nice, wide padded leather seats with tray tables and lots of legroom. They've been around for decades on Amtrak, so a quick Google will get you all kinds of results.
Horizon cars have essentially the same seats as Amfleets with a comparable amount of legroom.
I caught the Borealis heading to Chicago
Nice work.
awesome video
24:20 I was on the last car of that train when the engine failed 😂
I wanted to do this so bad but I knew my parents wouldn't take me so I just didn't even mention it to them
Awesome video here! Love all the Northwestern locomotives running around along with ROCK 4506 dressed in CNW patches and UP 1995 being around. I really need to plan a trip sometime to visit IRM. Thank you for posting when Northwestern Weekend is as I'll plan my trip around that
May 18 was grand opening day for North Western Historical Society new archive building and annual meeting.
I’ve been there
Great video, well done!
Imagine if the CNW Twins would of been here to see 1995 again but are no longer with us in their classic Colors.
That would be kind, but very sad too
There's still patched ones out there. So we can hope at least one finds its way to the museum someday. It's the only CNW diesel era not yet represented. Personally I hope IRM gets an AC44 at some point. But that's definitely not happening any time soon
Unfortunately the one Patched CNW engine 6706 is awaiting for Rebuild and will soon loose her old Colors
Good Catch UP 1995 CNW Heritage Power
Nice vid! I can see myself at 7:05, not sure if i saw you tho. I can agree that it was nice to see CNW 6363
Nice video! I was on the coach train with 6847! Unfortunate that it broke down
surprised it was not the SD50.
@@rearspeaker6364 Much as I love 7009, I sadly cannot defend the performance of SD50s. So I agree.
Cool catch.
YOO THAT'S A RARE DOUBLE HEADER
Rare on Empire Builder
Pretty impressive to see these freight trains.
nice
